Beauty Tunics get a colour makeover
March 2010
In the past, beauty uniforms were expected to look a certain way. They were all cut the same, had the same fastenings and were always the same colour. But things have changed in the realm of beauty uniforms, and the days when beauty tunics had to be black seem to be a thing of the past.
Over recent years there's been a steady increase in the number salons looking to move away the traditional monochrome colour palette, and find a more contemporary look for their beauty uniforms. And the simplest, most cost effective way to do this is by choosing fresh, dynamic new colour scheme.
And when we say fresh colours, we really mean fresh. It's not just that sales of cream, chocolate brown and grey beauty uniforms have increased. These colours have always been, and always will be a popular choice for beauty tunics. But recent years have seen an increase in the sales of bolder colours like plum, cherry red and olive green, and not just for beauty tunics. Salons have been opting for a daring look top and bottom, with co-ordinating (and sometimes clashing) beauty tunics and trousers.
There are a number of reasons for this development, with salons being influenced both by the current economic climate and trends within the marketplace. The recession still looms large for many salons, which in tough economic times means salon owners are really feeling the pinch, as more and more clients decide they don't have the cash to spare for luxuries. Now, more than ever, it is crucial for salons to stand out from the crowd and express their individuality and uniqueness. And they have been doing this by updating their beauty uniforms.
Take a walk down any high street in the country and you'll notice that along with the rails of black, navy and grey there's something of a colour explosion taking place. As a nation, we Brits are getting more daring with our dressing, with all age groups stepping away from the safety of black to experiment with colour. So it makes sense that salons reflect these changes in their beauty uniforms. The beauty tunics a salon chooses are so much more than simple beauty uniforms, in an industry driven by fashion and feeling good, the right beauty uniforms show personality, uniqueness and that your finger is firmly on the pulse.
