Company Background

Simon Jersey providing clothes for people to work in.
Simon Jersey are proud to be the UK's, leading corporate and work wear specialist,
supplying uniforms to businesses and industries worldwide.
What employees wear speaks volumes about a business.
We work closely with our customers to help differentiate their business and build
their brand through first-class, design-led clothing solutions. Our list of corporate
clients includes: Avis, Hertz, P&O Cruises, Dollard & Aitchison
the Opticians and Emirates Airline.
Based in the former mill town of Accrington, Lancashire, Simon Jersey Ltd was founded
by Simon Moyle in 1971. Simon set up the company after being approached by a local
pub to design their staff uniform. Using experience gained from his ten fashion
retail outlets, he began to design a more attractive range of work wear, with a
vision to challenge the perception that uniforms should be functional cover-ups.
Today, Simon Jersey is a global specialist in the design, manufacture and distribution
of clothes for people to work in, supplying more than 2.8 million garments each
year.
We now employ over 160 people at our award-winning, specially commissioned head
quarters and serve around 50,000 customers each year. With a UK based call centre,
distributors in 25 countries and worldwide delivery, Simon Jersey is a truly international
success story, with annual sales in excess of £20m.
In 2002, Simon Jersey became part of Mercatura Holding GmbH & Co K, leading
European textile and mail-order specialist- part of the Quelle group of retail and
mail-order companies. The Simon Jersey brand complimented this portfolio perfectly,
creating a major pan-European service wear supplier.
In 2007 S Kwintet AB Europes leading provider of professional clothing acquired
the Mercatura group, the acquisition brings together two highly complementary businesses.
Kwintet is unrivalled in work
wear for craftsmen and industry workers; whereas the Mercatura Group, with revenues
exceeding £130m and 1,050 employees, is particularly strong in the attractive service
wear sector; clothing for professionals in healthcare, retail and hotels, restaurants
and other service professions.
Following a strategic review, in January 2011 the Kwintet Group changed the way the business was structured to form five geographical regions supported by central functions such as Finance, IT, Supply Chain and Marketing to provide combined strength, stability, scale and best practice, with local knowledge and flexibility to respond to local market needs and maximising our value proposition to our customers. Simon Jersey is one of the brands, alongside Bragard, Weenas, Pioner, Kansas, Fristads and B&C which forms the Kwintet UK & International region with headquarters based in Kwintet House, Altham.
