The Management Team
Simon Jersey is one of the few major organisations both in the uniform industry and in Lancashire to have a woman at the helm, but Managing Director Chris Claydon-Butler sees this as a major opportunity and at 41 was chosen ahead of 200 other applicants as the Institute of Directors' Lancashire Director of the Year in 2008. Having lead from the front since 2002, Chris has overseen the uniform company grow from strength to strength, including the change of ownership from Mercatura to Kwintet in 2007 and wining the huge Emirates Airlines contract in 2008.
Chris recruited Shane Bray into the new role of Commercial Director in 2009 with the two of them working as a close knit board of directors, over seeing both strategic direction as well as day to day management of the company. "Shane has worked in the clothing sector for almost two decades, and rejoined Simon Jersey after successfully buying shares in, developing and coordinating a full management buy-out of a leading sportswear company." Chris comments. "Whilst previously working at Simon Jersey between 2003 and 2005 Shane introduced a new business platform that brought in business worth more than £16 million in just two years, which included the company's largest single contract win, Emirates Airlines, so he was an obvious choice." Shane will now work with the new business development team to further enhance the strategy and structure and bring in more bespoke clothing and managed service clients.
