Be a Team GB Athlete for a day

January 25, 2016

As you may be aware, Simon Jersey will be providing Team GB with their formal suits as well as the clothing the athletes will wear in the closing ceremony for Rio 2016. As part of our celebrations, we have decided to launch a new competition, which could see you and a friend joining Team GB athletes as they make their final preparations for Rio 2016.

The competition is open to anyone over the age of 18, and all we ask you to do is nominate somebody you know who inspires you, in order to win a day at the ‘Kitting Out’ experience at Birmingham NEC this summer. Whilst there, the nominee and the person who writes the winning inspirational story will join an Olympic medallist as they go through the experience of receiving their kit before the Games.

They will also get a rare chance to hear what it’s like to prepare for an Olympic Games, before being fitted for a bespoke suit from Simon Jersey, as well as some of the Rio 2016 kit usually reserved for Team GB athletes.

Team GB Athlete for a Day

Kerrie Medlicott, Marketing Director for Simon Jersey, said: “Team GB athletes are set to make the whole nation proud this summer when they compete in Rio. However, we also want to know the hidden stories of inspirational people all over the UK and give them a fantastic money-can’t-buy prize.

“They could be someone who never stops doing good deeds, an inspirational leader, or someone that’s achieved a major sporting goal like our Team GB stars. We’ll give them a fantastic day to remember and the chance to meet some of the athletes who’ll be going for gold in Rio.”

People can nominate by writing, in 200 words or less, why the person they have chosen inspires them. Nominations should be sent to before 23:59 on Sunday 1st May 2016.

Full details of the competition, and T&Cs are available at our Team GB athlete for a day competition page.
