After a year-long effort to implement changes across the business, Simon Jersey are proud to announce that we have been rewarded with two prestigious industry accreditations. Over the last month we have been assessed for and achieved both the OHSAS 18001 accreditation for our Health and Safety Management System, as well as the Investors in People (IIP) Bronze status for excellence in people management.
The OHSAS 18001 accreditation is given to companies that have implemented an effective health and safety management system, improving employees’ working environments and boosting operational efficiency. Further details on what the accreditation involves, and what this means for the business can be found here.
We have been working closely with local company Salus Associates, to assess and improve health and safety across the company to meet the detailed requirements of the accreditation, and would like to take this opportunity to thank and congratulate all of the staff at Simon Jersey for their hard work and assistance in getting us to this point.
The Investors in People (IIP) Bronze standard recognises organisations that strive to inspire their teams for a sustainable and successful workforce. Although Simon Jersey has long been accredited by IIP, this is the first time that we have reached the Bronze standard, demonstrating the extra efforts we go to in championing our team.
James Saunders, Simon Jersey managing director, said: “Both of these standards represent more than a year’s hard work. We have invested a lot of time and effort improving our systems, offices, warehouse and leadership to provide a great place to work and inspire our team to do their best.
“It’s fantastic to have our achievements recognised with these accreditations. It demonstrates to our people and those we do business with that we are committed to creating a safe and enjoyable place to work.”
