Giving BBC Radio Lancs a push for Children in Need!

We’re supporting BBC Radio Lancashire again this year as the team pedal their way across the county for Children in Need.

DJs Graham Liver and John Gillmore (Gilly) are attempting to ride 100 miles in a special PudseyMobile. They’re covering a route that includes the county’s major towns and visiting schools and community projects along the way.

Each day the duo will be pedalling from early in the morning to late at night so we’ve stepped in to help keep them warm. They have both been provided with Simon Jersey hoodies and t-shirts embroidered with the challenge logo to help protect against the elements.

To tell us more about their fundraising efforts they popped into our offices in Altham with Pudsey Bear. Staff had a chance for a selfie with Pudsey and donated to the challenge.

Graham and Gilly are aiming to complete the ride at Blackpool Tower by the time Children in Need is live on TV on Friday 17th November. The Simon Jersey team will also be aiming to further add to Lancashire’s fundraising total with a fun day for Children in Need.

The ride is one of a long list of challenges for Graham who is a familiar voice to all of us in Lancashire. Last year he hauled a bed through the county for Children in Need and he’s previously cycled from the Eiffel Tower to the Blackpool Tower.

He said: “Children in Need is a fantastic cause so each year we challenge ourselves to come up with something new to raise as much money as possible.

“It’s been tough going but we’ve been able to visit some fantastic people and places along the way. We’re lucky to have been supported by businesses like Simon Jersey who are helping us keep going to the finish line in Blackpool.”

Well done to both Graham and Gilly for taking on this fantastic challenge for Children in Need!
