We decided to help the school, which was in need of hoodies and tracksuit bottoms, as part of its commitment to working with local community projects.
The pupils have now taken delivery of their specially branded outfits which they can wear to warm up and travel to their games. They will be in good company wearing their Simon Jersey designs as the company will this year also supply Team GB for Rio 2016.
The 350 athletes heading to Brazil will all be kitted out with a Simon Jersey suit to wear at formal events as well as wearing the company’s designs in the closing parade of the Olympic Games which will be seen by up to a billion people worldwide.
James Saunders, Simon Jersey managing director, said: “Having worked with Team GB we like to think we know a thing or two about what athletes need. We were really pleased to be able to donate these tracksuits to the children and think they will look really smart heading to their games.”
Headteacher, Jo Sharples, added: “We are very grateful to Simon Jersey for the new tracksuits which the children will proudly wear to their sporting events.”
