History of Linen
The use of Linen for clothing dates back to ancient Mesopotamia times where the material was classed as a luxury material and was worn by the wealthiest members of society. In warmer countries, this was the fabric of choice as the material was cool and breathable.
Linen has never fallen out of fashion and is now seen as an ethical fashion choice as it is a sustainable fabric. The production of Linen requires less water than cotton and the by-products of production such as linseed oil can be repurposed.
Design Manager Helen Harker comments, ‘The Linen range is one of our best-selling lines so it is great to see a new colourway introduced. Grey is a sophisticated professional colour and with feedback from customers we settled on the charcoal shade’.
