Case studies

Simon Jersey was appointed to create a new uniform for Argos in 2014 as part of the company’s “Get Set Go” brand re-launch.

Argos was keen that staff were able to provide their views on the types of garments they wanted to wear. We spent time with store teams and developed garments that were not only brand aligned but were fit for purpose with pockets and loops for headsets and lanyards being worn in store.

Uniforms were launched to staff with a fashion show and an initial trial of 4,500 wearers took place. The new uniforms are now being rolled out in phases to Argos’ 29,000 employees.

HC One
Simon Jersey was appointed by HC-One, the UK’s third largest provider of residential care, in 2012 as part of the company’s strategy to create a more homely environment for residents.

The aim was to create a uniform that moved away from a clinical look towards a hospitality inspired uniform. The challenge was to provide functionality for a clinical environment, including infection control compliant fabrics and fastenings, without a ‘medical’ feel.

Modern shaped tunics and trousers with crisp colours and shapes traditionally were chosen with colours that reflect HC-One’s branding. More than 16,000 wearers across the UK now wear the Simon Jersey-designed uniforms.

Lavender Hotels
In 2014 Simon Jersey provided a new corporate clothing solution for bar staff at Lavender Hotels, which has six hotels across the North West of England.

The brief was to create a new uniform that provided a cohesive corporate image for those working in front-of-house roles, while still allowing for individual styles and tastes.

Simon Jersey provided a solution for bar staff that included shirts, blouses, aprons and accessories. A plum colourway was selected for aprons and clip-on ties to ensure a consistent look across the team and help create a strong brand identity.
