We've worked with Olympic Greats and current stars to understand the role a uniform plays in bringing Team GB together.

Their experience of preparing for an Olympic Games is invaluable and they all feature in our latest catalogue. Read exclusive interviews with each of them below...

Q & A

Joel

SJ HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE?

JF I do like to look good, but also I need to be comfortable. So, it’s very important for me to be able to do the stuff I need to do in whatever it is I’m wearing.

SJ WHAT IS THE BEST ASPECT OF BEING A PART OF TEAM GB AND HOW DOES IT FEEL TO WEAR THE UNIFORM?

JF I think the best aspect of being a part of Team GB is wearing the uniform. It’s the fact that you get to have the Olympic rings on you somewhere, you get to wear your country’s flag, nobody really gets to do such things apart from the few that have done it.

SJ DID YOU HAVE ANY SPORTING ROLE MODELS WHEN YOU WERE GROWING UP?

JF Yeah, I think Linford Christie was one of my biggest sporting role models.

SJ DO YOU DRESS MORE CASUAL OR SMART DAY TO DAY?

JF I’m very casual, I’ve got kids so I’m always running around doing stuff that requires me to move around.

SJ WHO IS YOUR STYLE ICON?

JF It would have to be Toby Olubi, another guy on the Bobsleigh team, but this guy is smooth like silk. So, if I have any questions about what I’m wearing I talk to Toby.

Q & A

Katie

SJ HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE?

KO I would say my personal style is quite neutral, I like quite fancy up to date clothes. I like to feel confident when I’m going out.

SJ WHAT IS THE BEST ASPECT OF BEING A PART OF TEAM GB AND HOW DOES IT FEEL TO WEAR THE UNIFORM?

KO Being a part of Team GB is such an honour, and having the same uniform that we’re all going to wear at the same time at the Olympics makes me feel such pride. It makes me feel really proud to be British, and when we’re all wearing the same outfits it gives the sense of us all being part of a team.

SJ DID YOU HAVE ANY SPORTING ROLE MODELS WHEN YOU WERE GROWING UP?

KO I looked up to Jenny Jones who just recently won bronze at the last Olympics, she was a snowboarder.

SJ DO YOU DRESS MORE CASUAL OR SMART DAY TO DAY?

KO I dress casual.

Q & A

Bruce

SJ HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE?

BT Sort of smart casual, I like shirts and polo shirts. Obviously, we spend so much time dressed in tracksuits and trainers, I like to dress smart casual when I am not training.

SJ WHAT IS THE BEST ASPECT OF BEING A PART OF TEAM GB AND HOW DOES IT FEEL TO WEAR THE UNIFORM?

BT It’s amazing to wear the uniform, obviously you’re representing your country so that’s amazing, and we also we get some awesome suits that we get to wear to the games.

SJ HAVE YOU EVER HAD A JOB THAT REQUIRED YOU TO WEAR A UNIFORM??

BT I used to work in bars and restaurants in between university and getting our lottery funding. It was smart casual, so no uniform as such but we wore shirts.

SJ DID YOU HAVE ANY SPORTING ROLE MODELS WHEN YOU WERE GROWING UP?

BT Not really, I suppose I looked up to runners like Jamie Baulch and Iwan Thomas, they were my aspirations as a young Welsh lad.

SJ DO YOU DRESS MORE CASUAL OR SMART DAY TO DAY?

BT I’m very casual, I’ve got kids so I’m always running around doing stuff that requires me to move around.

SJ WHAT'S THE WORST OUTFIT YOU'VE EVER HAD TO WEAR?

BT I can’t think of anything I’ve been forced to wear, I’ve probably chosen a lot of bad outfits myself though!
